“…They could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.”  Daniel 6:4

The presidents and princes sought to snare Daniel’s life because he was preferred by the King.  He was preferred not because of his great deeds but because of his excellent spirit.  They began to search for any thing they could bring occasion against him but found he was blameless in his life.  They brought a decree before the king only as a means to snare Daniel.  They knew they would never stop that man of God from his daily times of prayer.  If they could make a decree against prayer…he would be found guilty!  Don’t you want to be found guilty of a dedicated life of prayer!  Let us be found guilty of loving our enemies.  Let us be found guilty of a consecration that cannot be broken by the enticements of this world!

When the decree was signed, Daniel could have stolen away into a closet to pray.  Instead of backing away, he approached his window and began to pray.  He knew the supplication of Solomon many years before.  “If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the Lord toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:  then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.”  I Kings 8:44-45  Daniel knew the moment he turned his face toward Jerusaleum, God would hear his supplication and maintain his cause.  Before his enemies could go to the king, Daniel had already touched the heart of his King!  While they prepared a den of lions, Daniel’s God prepared an angel.  What looked like Daniel’s demise, became his promotion!

Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.” Daniel 6:21-22

“Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth…I make a decree , That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast forever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.  He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.”  Daniel 6:25-27

In your struggles, remember while it appears you are being overwhelmed…God has everything under His control!  When you call on the Name of the Lord…He hears and answers your prayer.  Sometimes we are not aware of His moving until the end of the battle!  Trust in Him and know that He is working all things together for your good…He delivers and rescues and works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth.
