We Stand at a New Horizon
God told Joshua as Israel stood at the Jordan River, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure; come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore."
Israel's life would now change dramatically. They had followed a cloud by day and a fire by night. They had eaten manna from heaven every morning and drank water from a Rock. God had been their total source in the wilderness. Now they would cross Jordan and because they were entering into a new land, they must follow the ark or the presence of God.
Our life is also entering into a new chapter. For 27 years I have been under the leadership and care of my mentor and father in the Lord, H. Richard Hall. On January 14, 2002, Bro. Hall went to receive his reward.
I moved to Cleveland, TN, in 1978 to work as a secretary in Bro. Hall's ministry. It was there I learned the strength and stability of the ministry. It was also there I learned to live a life of integrity before the Lord. It was there I learned the value of each offering received as the sweat and blood of a man's labor. It was there I learned that all men are equal whether rich or poor, of great intellect or struggling to communicate. It was there I learned I may one day require mercy and forgiveness of others so I must today give mercy and forgiveness for those who have trespassed against me. It was there I learned to never "burn a bridge" but always leave a door open for those who have walked away and may someday want to return again. Under Bro. Hall's supervision I learned many valuable lessons that have carried me through 18 years of evangelism. There is only one thing he failed to teach...how to quit. He showed us with his own life how to overcome every obstacle and always "rise again" for another challenge. Today my life and our ministry is the fruit of his labors and we are proud to have been under his supervision.
Now we stand at a new horizon. We now continue to walk as we have been taught...looking unto Jesus, our author and our finisher. For several days I have heard his instruction as I prepare to receive the microphone night after night in revival. He gave us a hope for tomorrow. After I go to the grave, a great revival will sweep this country. We are not looking back, we are looking ahead, with all we have received, for what has been prepared for us.
Thank you, Bro. Hall. We love you and will forever miss you.
