My Gift to Him...my need for Him!

February brings our thoughts to things of love...Valentine's Day...what can I get my husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend, sister, brother or Mom!  Everything revolves around hearts...candy...flowers and back to the same theme...thoughts of love.

I can't help walking through this month without thinking of the greatest love I ever received came to me from the Lord Jesus 36 years ago when He washed me, cleansed me, forgave me, remade me and gave me a new life to live!  If I would give a gift to Him...what can I give?  He told David...don't give me the blood of bulls and goats...this is what I want..."When you get in trouble, call on me and I will deliver thee and you can glorify me!"  So today I give him my greatest gift...I give Him my life to take care of...watch over...heal....deliver and undergird...my need of a Savior!

If I offer Him natural things...He gave them all to me!  If I offer Him my life...He gave that to me!  What do you give God that holds the heavens as His throne and the earth as His footstool?  Anything I could give Him belonged to Him first!  What He wants from me is for me to need Him...believe in Him...trust Him...call on Him.

When I was a young girl growing up in Indiana, my Dad loved providing for me.  He worked long hours in a foundry then butchered on Saturdays to provide us fresh meat and cut wood to keep us warm.  He loved to cook for us...build a fire for us...take us riding in a wagon while he drove a tractor to teach us the name of different trees in the woods or to pick out the perfect Christmas tree.  His joy was to feed us, teach us and take care of us...the love of a father!  This is how I know what my heavenly Father wants...  He wants to provide for me, teach me, lead me, undergird me, protect me, heal me and encourage me.  That is His joy!
