His Prepared Place

 

“And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God…”  I Chronicles 12:1

David had tried to bring the ark home once before but it cost the life of Uzza.  Now he is preparing for it once again.  This time he will bring it according to the due order.  Having His presence in Israel is the most important thing for David but bringing it according to God’s plan is necessary and preparing a place for it to dwell is a necessity. 

God’s order was to prepare a place ahead of time.  So it is for us…enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.  “…thou that inhabits praises of Israel.” Then only the Levites are chosen to carry the ark…not oxen.  The ark rests upon the shoulder of the priest.  So it is for us…you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood…greater is He that is in you.  We carry Him not on our shoulders but deep within the tabernacle of our heart.  The priests and Levites were sanctified to be prepared to carry the ark.  So it is for us…we are to consecrate, dedicate and cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of flesh to prepare for His presence to dwell within us.  He must increase but I must decrease.

In 2009 I am preparing Him a place…according to due order…with thanksgiving and praise…the place is the deep recesses of my heart.
