“For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart…” Deuteronomy 4:7-9 I am concerned our nation has forgotten what made us so great. Moses told Israel your enemy looks at you and says this is a great nation that has God so near to them and gives them statutes, laws, judgments and boundaries to go by. We are not a great nation because of our weaponry or our wealth. We are great because of our heritage of Godly men and women. We are great because a remnant of America still fears and believes God. Our enemy is well aware that God has smiled on us! So it is in my Christian walk. I do not want to forget what my eyes have seen and the promises I hold in my heart. He has carried us through great adversity to great victory! Our enemy also knows that God is near to us. He cannot defeat us…he only sends threats that we may listen to or choose to ignore. He knows of a surety that we are in our Father’s hands and He is working all things together for our good! “Thou shalt not be afraid of them; but shalt well remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharoah, and unto all Egypt.” Fear not, Joshua. Be strong and of good courage! “Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for the Lord thy God is among you, a mighty God!”
