Thus saith the Lord, “Make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink…” II Kings 3:16-17
In the wilderness of Edom,
Jehoshaphat sought after Elisha for a word from the Lord.
He was in a wilderness with no water in any direction for a seven-day
journey. Without a source of water,
Israel, Judah and Edom would perish. Their only hope was a word from the Lord.
When they had done all they could do, their answer came from the Word of the Lord. Make this valley full of “irrigation canals”. You prepare a place for the water to flow from and I will prepare the water! What a promise! You will not receive water from any natural effect…no wind and no rain…yet the valley shall be filled with water. Your answer will not come from anything but my divine action!
Can you hear Him speaking to you? Are you in a wilderness where there seems to be no refreshing in sight? Is it going to take God to bring you through? Then hear your promise…prepare a place for my spirit to flow from and I will send your refreshing! It will not come as a result of a great revival or an outpouring for the entire church, it will come as your divine visitation!
Hold to His promise! You do not need a great outpouring to carry you through. You only need His divine touch. When you have done your part by preparing the reservoir, He does His part by filling it! Be encouraged in the Lord! He is your source in times of trouble!
