CHRISTMAS MEMORIES
IT IS A BLESSING TO
BE BORN ON DECEMBER 26TH.
THIS YEAR WILL BE
77 CHRISTMAS BIRTHDAYS FOR ME!
When I was a child
every Christmas I got a doll. The winters were cold in Kentucky and
I wore long, brown, cotton stockings all winter. So Christmas Eve
I'd hang the stocking up for my gift. The next morning, it would be
full of candy, nuts, fruit and a small toy…usually jacks.
A
double portion of excitement filled my young heart each year.
On
December 24th one year my husband and I brought a baby
girl home to meet her brothers and sister. What a great Christmas
present that was for the family!
In 1988 Mother was
nearing Heaven and Lindy and I took a nylon stocking that I had
retrieved from her house the weekend before. We filled it with
fruit, candy, nuts and small gifts. Mother was sitting in her
chair in her living room. Lindy stood in front of her and I ask her
to stand up we had a gift for her. Lindy stepped aside and as I
handed the stocking to her it stretched all the way to the floor.
Mother threw her head back and laughed and laughed. Lindy and I
joined the laughter with a Presence of LOVE. I said "Mother this
is for all the Great Christmas days you gave me!" Let's bring
laughter into someone's life this Christmas.
I've arrived at a
place with God where He makes me laugh.
When a prayer is answered, when I see my first dandelion in the
spring, I know summer is near…when someone has an amazing testimony
to share, when God heals someone or when my dear friend is taken to
the hospital sick and all kinds of tests are done: MRI-Cat
Scan-Blood work and the Doctor says "The only thing I can find wrong
with you is low sodium-go home and eat more salt!" Then the time a
precious friend is rushed to a local hospital with a heart attack
and the hospital sends him to a heart hospital in another town and
after tests are finished, they find "no" heart attack!
Anytime my
spiritual eyes and ears see or hear of God's Amazing Works I rejoice
with a hearty laugh. My Lord and Savior make me so happy!
May you have
a Happy-Healthy-Loving Christmas.
Remember Jesus
Loves You!.
