HIDDEN TREASURES
The Word of God was
hidden to me before I became a Christian. My mother kept it in a
cedar box that was a gift to her. We never read it.
There were verses from
the Bible in pictures on the walls of our home. That’s where I read
God’s words. I read the Ten Commandments with my school class each
morning for 12 years.
Then my life
changed when I humbled myself to God and He washed me in His
Blood.
As I began to read the
Bible I did not understand what I was reading. I read Psalms for
years. Then Ephesians began to speak to me. Now after 59 years of
studying and going to church, I find treasures that keep me
thirsty for more of the same.
I notice I see something
in God’s word that I didn’t see before because I wasn’t ready for
it. Then as I matured the words became like neon signs.
Experiences through life
revealed the Bible as a path along my way. The words came
alive to me. I began to see it was my road map to travel
through life. Later it was a love letter to me from God.
I enjoyed the example of
the treasure “hid in the field”…the man sold all that he had and
bought the field. Matthew 13
In Isaiah 33:6 The fear
of the Lord is his treasure.
II Corinthians 4:7 But
we have this treasure in earthen vessels.
I am so thankful for
the word of God. I never get tired of reading it. It is God
talking to me.
Let this be the day you
“fall in love” with the Word of God to hunger and thirst
after it.
God bless you.
