The Widow ----

God  loves the widow.  He brings peace, joy, health and comfort into her life.  I soon learned when my husband of over 50 years moved to Heaven that I was not alone.  The house was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Those days when I wanted to grieve...God sent a thought of the Precious Memories I had of funny words and happenings that my husband and I shared. I began to laugh and I felt His presence in the room with me.

When I began to feel lonely, I opened my Bible and read of God's Great Love for  me.  Then one day the Holy Spirit reminded me of  all the Love Letters that  my husband and I  had written to each other when we dated.   Remember when you and your future husband wrote love letters to each other and every other word was "I love you"?          I had kept all my letters as he had also.  I had put them safely in a small, sheet metal chest that my brother had made for that purpose.  I started with the oldest postmark and read 6 months of letters of his love for me.  I transferred them to postcard and picture albums in case I needed to read them again.  I never did have a need to read them again.  One time was enough.

As in our marriage, he said he loved me many ways: romantic moments, a gift for no reason,  sharing his life at work with me,  driving me to all the old paths he traveled as a child and young man, or that special 'look' when I'd discover him looking at me - like he was remembering some special moment we had together.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.   He worked hard for long hours in a factory and on a farm to provide for his family.   Then one day he decided to put Jesus in his life.  He gave Jesus his best as he had given his family, siblings and friends.   Isn't God like that?   He gave us HIS BEST...JESUS.
HE WROTE US LOVE LETTERS.          Read Them!
