From My Heart

Summer is here!

Campmeeting has come to a close and once again He visited us with His glory!  We had over 30 pastors and evangelists come in from several different areas.  It was so great to see everyone preaching together, praying together, singing together, musicians playing together with such unity!  Surely He was the center of the meetings...no one individual or group...just Jesus!  By Friday night we had reached over 300 people sitting under the tent, standing outside the tent, sitting under the stars with His presence flowing like a river on the property.  We began to receive reports of healings taking place in the meetings.  Sister Hensley, from Mike's home church, gave up her cane after 3 years of barely being able to walk.  It was such a joy to see her come in on Saturday night and sing without assistance and able to stand the entire time she was singing.  It is amazing how things change when Jesus passes by.

The minister's breakfast, as always, is such a great time of fellowship for the ministry.  We thank the Golden Corral for the delicious breakfast and service while we were sharing from our heart and drawing from our well for one another.

We are thankful for all the new pastors and friends that made this their first trip to Mt Airy for Campmeeting and have already began to make plans for next year's trip.  It is always like a giant family reunion when everyone joins together for a week of preaching, singing, praying, fellowshipping, and eating together sharing the good news of what the Lord has done in our life over the past year.

It is now time to set our sites on Wilkesboro, North Carolina and Pickin in the Park 2009.  We have begun advertising with flyers and ordered banners for Wilkesboro and signs for Wilkesboro, Lenoir, Boone and surrounding cities.  We are sending flyers to our pastors to be posted in the churches...everyone is invited!  Ronnie and I will be arriving a day early to set up equipment and get everything ready for Saturday morning.  There will be food served all day...hot dogs, nachos, snacks, Skinner's Bar-B-Q from Woodruff, South Carolina (best man at our wedding!) near Ronnie's home town.  There will be door prizes every hour with a grand prize at the end of the concert. We invite to come join with us for an all day Pickin in the Park in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  Hope to see you there!  Check our Concert page for motel information...make your plans now.

We are so happy to report after our last entry concerning Leon Everett's accident that all is well!  He had caught on fire during an accident and had to cancel all his appointments for the summer.  He was looking at many skin graphs and a long recovery time.  Last week he was with us in Saluda, South Carolina and was able to play his guitar and sing for us again.  All his facial scars have disappeared and the area of his nose and ear do not even appear to have been damaged!  The doctors say he is over a month ahead of his recovery time and are amazed at his ability to heal with no scar tissue....they just don't know who we've been talking to!  Thank you Jesus!

We are so excited about our new Blog!  I was looking for a way to write short thoughts, prayer requests and to be able to keep up with you without writing an entire new article.  Thus the Blog.  I thank you for all the comments that let me know you are following us on the road.  You are a valuable part of our ministry and we appreciate your love and prayers more than our words can express!
Hope to see you soon.
