One of my favorite passages in the Streams in the Desert devotional is Deuteronomy 11:11-12 “The land whither ye go to possess it is a land of hills and valleys and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: a land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.”
I have watched this as 2015 came to a close. Our year was a year of hills and valleys. We had great victories and deep sadness at the homegoing of my sweet Mom. As I look into this new year I can hear Him echo into my heart one more time. Yes, it is a year of hills and valleys…and yes, my eyes are always upon it from the beginning unto the end.
I take great comfort in the promise of His Word. He has proved Himself faithful in my life for 40 1/2 years. There has never been a mountain He did not climb with me. There was never a valley He did not walk with me. He became my Lily. He became the Captain of the Lord’s host. He became a cool drink of Living Water in a dry and thirsty land. He became an Anchor in the midst of my storm.
I cannot tell you what 2016 will hold for you. I can promise you with great assurance that He will hold you in your 2016! May His blessings follow you through this entire year…..
